Booking

1Can you do photo shoots outside of Helsinki?
Absolutely! Although I’m living in Helsinki – I love doing wedding shoots further from here. There is a small travel compensation fee (0.55€/km after 15km), but I’ll always point this out when making an offer for you
2Where can I find prices for the wedding shoots?
I have listed prices for 8h documentary wedding photo shoot, video shoot & hybrid shoot. The prices can be found from the "Investment"-page If you wish to have shorter or longer day than 8h – please reach out to me & I would be happy to make you an offer.
3How can I book a wedding shoot?
I’m happy to reserve you the wedding shoot after agreeing with the Service contract & having all the information I need for the reservation. Non-refundable booking fee is will be taken in order to secure the date for both of us.
4How much is the booking fee?
Booking fee is 20% of the full-price of the wedding shoot. I will send you a pdf-invoice which all the needed details for paying it. Booking fee is non-refundable, since it secures the date for both of us.
5What if I do not know how long shoot I need for our wedding?
No problem, we can discuss about your preliminary schedule for the day & book a time that sounds reasonable. You can lengthen the day before the wedding, or even on the day if it feels like we are running out of time. I always charge based on the actual time.
6I booked photo session but would like to change it to hybrid shoot – Can I change it?
Of course you can! Changes are part of life & I can modify your reservation if needed. The final invoice will be sent after the wedding and therefore the type and length of the shoot can be changed for longer one.
7What if I need to cancel the shoot?
I’m so sorry to hear you need to cancel – non-refundable booking fee can not be returned, yet there will not be final invoice of the shoot.

Planning & Wedding day

1How should I prepare for the pre-wedding meeting?
Pre-wedding meeting is about getting to know each other, talking about your wishes for the shoot & making sure the schedule is clear. I will send you a questionnaire, which I hope you give some thought before the meeting. We can have 1-2 meetings & I'm happy to schedule these.
2How many pre-wedding meetings should we have & when will they take place?
I prefer to have 2 planning meetings. The first approx. 1-2 months before the wedding and the second so-called “final check” about a week before the wedding day. For the first meeting, I will send you a pre-filled questionnaire in order to express your wishes and expectations as well as possible. Final check is, as the name refers, a check before the big day that everything previously agreed is still valid and there have been no changes to the day’s schedule. The meetings can be remotely or face-to-face – whatever is easiest and most comfortable for you to arrange.
3Should we reserve food & seat for you from the table?
This is the best option for everyone. Therefore I would be close and available throughout the day, and I don’t have to go far to get food. However, I’m alright with both options. If I’ll get my own food, I have to take a small break at some point during the day, when I may of course miss some important events.
4How hybrid shoot works in practise?
In hybrid shoots, I also use a lot of snapshots taken from 4K quality video material, which are also excellent in terms of resolution and quality as pictures. Post-processing takes place simultaneously with other images, creating a unified wedding photo gallery. In fact, most of the pictures taken on e.g. my website are snapshots from wedding videos. I use two cameras for hybrid shoots, one mainly for video shooting and the other only for taking pictures. Planning also plays a big role in a successful hybrid shoot – for this reason, in the planning meetings, we carefully go over your wishes regarding pictures and videos.

Post-production & Delivery

1How quickly do you deliver the pictures and/ or video?
I’ll promise to deliver the full wedding gallery and/ or video within three (3) weeks after the wedding. I’ll be sharing a few sneak peek photos with you in the days following your special day.
2How do you retouch the pictures?
I process all images according to my style, i.e. I make adjustments regarding brightness, colors and white balance. My opinion is that everyone is beautiful the way they are, so I don’t do actual photo manipulation. I always listen to your wishes regarding the editing process, so feel free to express these.
3Can we see the RAW-files?
Unfortunately I can not show you the original RAW-files – only the promised amount of edited pictures in JPG-file format.
4What are my rights to the delivered pictures?
When the pictures are delivered to you, you get full usage rights for them. When publishing photos, I would naturally hope my name to be mentioned – yet not obligated. (Vera Kota-aho / @veramoi)
5What are photographers rights to the pictures?
I keep full rights to the pictures as well, if not agreed otherwise. I can use the pictures as reference on my social media and homepage (and in other commercial use) I tend to only use the pictures of the wedding couple & the ones I have asked permission to publish pictures.
6How long do you keep the backup copies?
My backup copy obligation ends 1 month after the delivery of the products, and I do not have obligation to store them after that.
7How does the online gallery work?
I will deliver a link to the online gallery with a password. You are able to share the gallery to your guests - therefore everybody can download pictures from it. Online gallery is available for one (1) month after delivery date. Make sure to upload the full gallery to your own device before this.
8Can we choose any music for our wedding video?
Wedding videos must use legally licensed/royalty-free songs, even if the video is only for your use and not e.g. published anywhere. As the creator of the video, I am responsible for ensuring that copyright matters are fulfilled. For this reason, I myself use various music libraries from which it is possible to buy a license to use music, and this is of course included in the photography package I offer. I always take music requests for a wedding video, and I try to fulfill them as best as I can within the framework of the copyright law
